The Karnataka Chalanachitra Karmikara Okkuta on Sunday morning in its office premises in the presence of KFCC President Basanthkumar Patil, Ashok and writer cum director Baraguru Ramachandrappa handed Rs.1.5 lakh plus 25000 to the family members of Bekkinakannu Krishna the senior federation member who passed away recently serving as secretary for 13 years.

Another member of the art department Sundaram family received Rs.25000 from the Karnataka cinema Art directors Association.

It was the first meeting of the newly elected President of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on second Sunday at the Okkuta premises.

In his address Basanthkumar Patil said he is always in favor of the workers fraternity. It is the only cinema workers units in Karnataka that showed solidarity when Dr Rajakumar was kidnapped by fugitive Veerappan. Such humble workers should be alright in life he pointed.

Looking at the failure of the films Basanthkumar Patil said KFCC has evolved a committee to look in to the issues of new producers before registering them at KFCC. At the bud we will give them necessary training. This is only to inculcate responsibility for the producer he mentioned.

For the distributors and exhibitors showing scant respect to Kannada films Basanthkumar Patil said this is not a right attitude. The Hindi film makers’ stake is only 2 percent in Karnataka. Karnataka cannot be like ‘pickles’ to other languages.
